Our Founding
Property managers know better than anyone that carpets are difficult to keep clean. Zerorez founders Gaylord Karren and John Hopkins worked as property managers when they noticed a redundant problem: the soaps and detergents carpet cleaners used weren't getting the job done, and the tools used were lacking as well.
In fact, the chemicals left behind by the cleaners attracted even more dirt and grime onto the carpets.
This often left Karren and Hopkins stuck replacing the carpets. Managing more than 3,000 apartment units meant carpet cleanings and replacements added up quickly in their expenses column.
In response, they teamed up with longtime home restoration specialist Jim Stone to create an entirely new formula and process that would address the problem of carpet residue and insufficient cleaning methods.
Combining their backgrounds in engineering, oil & gas, and home renovation allowed them to come up with the innovative solutions and formulas Zerorez relies on today.
